The entry into the sea is flat and shallow, to get to the depth,it is necessary to go at least five minutes.

The beaches can be reached by car or train, which starts from Riga.

Dzintari and Asari are the most luxurious areas

In these beach areas of Jurmala, there are the most expensive and luxurious hotels. The famous concert hall is located in Dzintari, international programs are constantly held. Pumpuri is the place, where there are winds

In Pumpuri there is the perfect place for windsurfers and kitesurfers. There are rather big waves and strong winds. But even if vacationers do not seek to ride the wave, in Pumperi there is the best place to kite-flying. This entertainment is available to both children and adults. The multi-colored tails of huge kites fly in the sky every now and then. There is shallow water near the coast, which is great for children. For them, a playground is installed.

Priedaine and Lielupe are places of unity with nature

In the region of Lielupe and its extreme part of Priedaine, the Ragakapa Nature Park is located, where tall pines give a unique aroma. Here is the highest sand dune in Europe, which rises almost 20 m above sea level and stretches for almost a kilometer. All these natural beauties are accessible to tourists absolutely free of charge, as well as beaches of several kilometers long with white sand and calm water.

Lielupe is the closest railway station to the Riga Airport, located 19 km away.

When is it better to go

The climate of the Latvian coast belongs to the soft sea. There are few sunny days in a year, and the rest of the time the sky is overcast, often it rains. The Baltic Sea does not freeze even in winter. But in summer, the water temperature off the coast only occasionally rises to +22...+23˚С. All the rest of the time - not more than +18˚С.

The peak season on the beaches of Riga Seaside begins in late July, August. The air temperature at this time reaches a comfortable +25°C, sometimes it can increase to +35°C. Winds often blow from the sea. The weather in Latvia is unpredictable, so when planning a vacation in the resorts of Latvia it is better to specifically monitor the weather.
