Smedsuddsbadet beach
Despite the name that is hard to pronounce for tourists, this beach is considered one of the best in Sweden and regularly falls into the lists of the most popular places for summer holidays by the water. It is located directly in the capital of the country – Stockholm – in the Kungsholmen area, and you can easily reach it by taxi or get off at the Friedhemsplan metro station.

Beach description
You can visit it for free, but it’s worth considering that it is popular not only among visitors, but primarily among the Swedes themselves. Fine and light sand covers the entire narrow V-shaped area of the beach, along the edges of which trees grow and spread lawns; on particularly hot days, visitors lie freely on them. Moreover, there is at least some shadow under the trees, while there are no umbrellas or sun loungers on the beach.
Some may be surprised that nearby ships pass, and the entry into the water itself is shallow. Also, in addition to people, geese and Canadian geese often rest here: a vacation with children here is not only possible, but also pleasant for themselves. There is a wooden pier on the beach from which you can dive – you will not have to get bored much. And for those who are hungry: within walking distance there are many trays with hot dogs, ice cream and a small cafe.
When is the best time to go?
Vacation on the beaches of Sweden is best in July-August, when the water in the northern Baltic Sea becomes warm enough for swimming.
