If paradise exists it's in Curacao
Curacao is home to many of the world's most beautiful beaches and islands. When you're searching for an island destination, it can be difficult to find one that has something for everyone, but Curacao is the jack-of-all-trades for Caribbean travel. Whether you're looking for a laid-back beach trip or a luxurious getaway with all the bells and whistles, there are plenty of options here. Here are our personal favorites:
Cas Abao
Cas Abao is a small beach with white, silky sand. Its waters are turquoise blue, and you'll find it just north of Willemstad. It's not very crowded, so you can enjoy your time there without feeling like your relaxing day on the beach was ruined by loud people or hordes of tourists trying to take selfies with an iguana that just wants to go back into its hole in the ground (or whatever iguanas do).
If you want to get there: You'll need a car or taxi; buses don't go there anymore because they got tired of people stealing stuff off their buses all the time! So if you don't have either one... well... then maybe this isn't for you after all? But if you do have access to either one--then here's what else I recommend bringing along: sunglasses (because it gets pretty bright), sunscreen (you'll need this), lots of water bottles because dehydration is no fun at all especially when it happens during an exciting adventure like going somewhere new), bug spray/deet so mosquitos won't bite us anywhere near as much as usual--I mean come on guys we're trying our best here!
Kenepa Grandi
Kenepa Grandi is a popular tourist destination on Curacao's west coast. Known for its gorgeous white sand and clear blue waters, it's an ideal spot to go for a swim. There are also several restaurants within walking distance, as well as hotels that offer day passes so you can enjoy the beach while staying nearby.
Visitors can expect to find many activities at Kenepa Grandi including snorkeling and scuba diving in addition to swimming in the ocean or just relaxing on the beach under one of their many palm trees!
Blue Bay
Blue Bay is a long beach with a lot of sand. The snorkeling is great there. It's a good place for families with kids because it has lots of shade trees and the water is shallow enough to wade in without getting too deep. If you want to take pictures, this is also an excellent location because there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful shots along the shoreline or while sitting on one of the many rocks that surround this area!
If you're looking for a quiet beach with a nice restaurant and a great view of the island, Kokomo is the place for you. It's located in the south of Curacao and has everything you need: white sand, warm water and palm trees. If paradise exists it's definitely here!
If paradise exists, it's in Curacao. The island is known for its beautiful beaches and friendly people, but did you know that Porto-Marie is also a popular tourist destination? If you're looking for a quiet beach town with delicious food and refreshing drinks, then this is where you need to go. The people of Porto-Marie are welcoming and friendly. They love to share their culture with visitors who come through their town on vacation! You'll find delicious Dutch-Caribbean cuisine here too--try the keshi yena (fried plantain) or prawns in garlic sauce!
Playa Kalki is a beach on the south coast of Curacao. It's not far from Piscadera Bay, which you can reach by taking the scenic route: drive through Willemstad and then follow the coastal road all the way to Playa Kalki. You'll come across some beautiful sights along the way, including Fort Amsterdam (which was built by Dutch colonists in 1634) and Aruba Windmills Park where there are actually windmills!
Once at Playa Kalki, take some time to explore this small community before hitting up one of its many beaches. There are several options here including one called "The Devil" that has strong currents that make swimming difficult but not impossible; another called "Traffic Light" because it has three separate areas separated by rocks; or even a quieter area called "Coconut Tree Rock." Whatever you choose though--just remember that no matter how much fun everyone else seems like having--don't forget why we came here!
Mambo
Mambo is a small beach with a few restaurants. It's near Playa Kalki, so if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the sun, this could be it. The water is clear enough that you can snorkel without any difficulty and there are plenty of fish around if you want to do some fishing or diving (you'll need your own equipment). If you're not into aquatic activities but still want some shade from the hot sun, there are some trees along the shoreline where you can sit down under their branches and read a book while listening to waves crash against rocks just feet away from them--it sounds like paradise doesn't it?
Curacao, an island paradise
Curacao is a small island in the southern Caribbean Sea. It's part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and has been an autonomous country within that kingdom since 2010. The island was once called Curacao by its native people, who are now known as its inhabitants.
The Dutch began colonizing Curacao around 1634 when they founded Willemstad on the west side of the island. They called their new colony "New Walcheren" after another colony they had established in Zeelandic Flanders (now part of Belgium). Eventually, New Walcheren became known simply as "Walcheren." By 1816 it had become part of Holland proper instead of being ruled separately like other colonies like Suriname or Indonesia were at this time; however, even though it was part of Holland now it still wasn't considered an integral part--it was just another province along with Groningen, Friesland, et cetera.
We hope that you've enjoyed our tour of Curacao's beautiful beaches. It's important to remember that this is just a small sampling of what the island has to offer, but it should be enough to inspire you to plan your own trip!
