Dominican resort of Punta Cana
Punta Cana is a large resort region located in the east of the Dominican Republic. About a hundred thousand people live on the local lands, washed by the Atlantic Ocean.
Along the coast of Punta Cana, there are several natural backwaters that are great for swimming. In general, sandy beaches prevail here, the sea in these places is rather shallow, but strong winds blow.
The resort area is quite deserted, but due to its close proximity to such recreation areas as Uverto Alto and Bavaro, Punta Cana is one of the main tourist destinations of the amazing Caribbean Sea.
Approximately two million tourists arrive here every year. The most crowded in the resort is in the April-October period, when the temperature reaches plus thirty-two degrees. In the December-March period, the thermometer drops to plus twenty.
Guests of Punta Cana can do more than just a beach holiday. There are professional golf centers, diving clubs, equestrian clubs in the region. Also, vacationers have the opportunity to enjoy fishing and windsurfing and Punta Cana golf courses. Hikers will enjoy wandering through the local ecological park.
