Holidays in India - Kerala

The state of Kerala is inferior to such resort monsters as Goa in its popularity, but it is worth noting that Kerala is a coast of 900 kilometers of pristine sandy beaches. The popular name of the state of Kerala is also interesting, it says a lot - the country of God. Kerala is known for its natural beauty - waterfalls, dense jungle, a sea of exotic plants and animals! And also, for the whole of India, Kerala is the state with the lowest crime rate and the highest standard of living for the local population.

The main natural beauties of Kerala are the national parks. One of these parks is the Quiet Valley National Park. There are a lot of versions about the reason for the "silence" of this valley, but the atmosphere in this park is really fabulous. The evergreen tropical forests of the "Quiet Valley" immerse visitors several centuries ago, when such places on our planet were ubiquitous and man lived in symbiosis with nature.

Today it is one of the few places where you can observe the rhythm of life of rare species of animals in their natural environment. Picturesque places of wild nature remote from big cities have long gained fame among the lovers of outdoor sports of various levels of training. Trekking can be called among such types of activity, most often it is a kind of recreational tourism. However, there are types of trekking suitable for the advanced travelers. For example, trekking in Nepal is a very common tourist activity.

Here, you can find such unique animals as lion-tailed macaques, which are practically nonexistent in the world. All this natural beauty is under serious threat from large companies dreaming to implement their projects on the territory of the national park. The most beautiful place is the Eravikulam National Park, which offers stunning views from the top of the plateau.

"Eravikulam" is famous for keeping the life of dozens of animals within its borders, and some of them are found only in this national park. Periyar National Park is famous for the fact that its lands are home to a large number of Indian elephants and Bengal tigers, which are a symbol and decoration of the animal world of India. The entire national park is surrounded by evergreen tropical vegetation. The main purpose of the tourists' trip to Periyar is to get acquainted with the majestic Indian elephants. The park annually receives about 4 million visitors within its borders.

In general, the park is home to over 2,500 species of vegetation and about 70 species of mammals. There are a large number of significant religious buildings in Kerala. For the local religion, this is the Aranmula Parthasarati temple, the Chettikulangara Devi temple, the city of Bharananganam. For other world religions - the church of St. Francis, Syro-Malankara Church in Parumal.

A place like the city of Bharananganam receives pilgrims from all over the world. And the most famous temple in the holy city is the Sri Krishna Swami temple. It is from the appearance of this temple that Bharananganam begins its history. Kerala is not like a world-class tourist destination. But, it is here that you can feel the true Indian atmosphere!
