Black beaches of Bali

Bali is very popular among travelers from all over the world. Numerous cultural monuments, waterfalls, rice terraces and, of course, beaches are of interest. Particular attention should be paid to the coastlines with black sand.

Purnama

In the southeast of Bali, just a 30-minute drive from Ubud, there is a beach that means "full moon" in translation. This is one of the few places where the sand has a rich black color, but you don’t want to swim here at all.

There are strong waves and reverse currents on the beach all year round, and the coastline itself is quite dirty. Due to the lack of infrastructure, there are practically no tourists here, but there are many local residents who dine in neighboring cafes.

Saba

Another sparsely populated beach of the island. Finding this place is very easy, because the coastal zone is parallel to the road to Candidasa. Swimming is prohibited here due to strong undercurrents. Despite this, you can always meet surfers conquering the waves in the water.

Masketi

Another non-tourist place on the island. The beach is named after the temple, which is located in the northern part of the resort. This place is especially loved by the locals, who hold ceremonies on the beach and meet the sunset.

Lebach

Beach where mostly locals go. The coastline is practically absent here, and accumulations of stones immediately begin. You can’t swim here, prohibiting flags and special signs on the beach warn about this.

Kusamba

Here the coastline is quite wide, the territory is clean, but people are rare. Mostly here you can meet only locals enjoying the sunset or fishing.

Keramas

This beach is quite popular with travelers. It is located near Sanur, and was named after the village of the same name. But the beach cover is not uniform, the sand is mixed with large pebbles, which the locals use to make souvenirs.

It is interesting that ducks are driven to the beach in the morning and evening hours. This is due to the fact that the Balinese are actively breeding birds. The beach is also great for surfers as the waves are up to 2 meters high.

Lovina

The most popular black sand beach in Bali. The place is great for swimming, snorkeling and diving. The beach is surrounded by coral reefs on each side, and the water is quite clear, which creates ideal conditions for exploring the underwater world.

Many travelers think about the safety of black sand. But in fact, this is only the result of volcanic eruptions, which does not pose any harm to health.
