The Canary Islands are the perfect holiday destination
The Spanish Canary Islands are one of the most popular holiday destinations. The weather here is conducive to relaxation all year round, and each of the islands has many scenic spots and attractions worth visiting. Each one is also different, so we have put together some information about Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife that we hope will help you decide where to spend your dream vacation.
Fuerteventura is the second largest island in the Canary Islands archipelago. Despite being only 120 kilometers from the coast of Africa, the climate here is exceptionally mild. The temperature never drops below 18 degrees and never exceeds 30 degrees. That is why this area is popular all year round - both among those who are looking for an ideal place for a blissful holiday, and among those who would like to visit interesting places.
Fuerteventura's coastline is over 300 km long and hides many beautiful beaches that are considered the most beautiful in Europe. There are more than 150 beaches here, they are golden and wide. You just need a little perseverance to find one where you can enjoy privacy. But if we prefer outdoor activities and water sports, then we will choose the western part of the island. The winds blow here, making it ideal for windsurfing.
Gran Canaria, although there are slightly fewer beaches than Fuertaventura, they are so diverse that they will surely please you. If you're lucky, you might be able to spot the dolphins that often swim in the area. But this is not the only attraction, because it is a whole island, which is not without reason called a miniature continent.
Its western part has been declared a biosphere reserve. The mountainous landscape, cut by gorges and green valleys, can be admired endlessly, and numerous hiking trails have been created to facilitate this. If you enjoy discovering unusual places on foot, you won't be disappointed.
Lanzarote is the closest Canary Island to Europe. This is due to volcanoes and frozen lava. There are more than three hundred volcanoes in this small area, so the landscape is truly lunar. However, on the Moon it is impossible to bake a steak over a volcano, but here such a pleasure is generally available and even popular.
Even though the coastline is largely built up with volcanic rocks, you will also find beautiful beaches there - and how diverse they are. From white and gold to red and dark graphite, you will not find such beaches anywhere else. It is worth noting that not only tourists like them (and there are fewer of them than on other islands of this archipelago). Here you can meet many birds, including penguins. The island is also famous for rabbits - Lanzarotes are so proud of them that they even call themselves conejeros, which means rabbits.
Tenerife is a Canary Island, which is especially loved by tourists, perhaps this is due to the fact that this island currently has the largest number of air links. It is also the most populous island in Spain with the highest mountain in Spain - Teide 3718 m above sea level.
Tenerife is famous for its beautiful coastline with long beaches, picturesque coves and rocky cliffs. As befits a volcanic island, the sand is almost black. But there is no shortage of artificial beaches with light sand brought to them from the Sahara desert. The crystal clear waters around them invite you to swim and practice water sports. The southwestern part of the coast also attracts with additional attractions - here you can see dolphins, killer whales and even blue whales.
At your city's travel agency, you will find offers for holidays in the most attractive hotels on each of these islands. You can also visit the biggest sights of the region thanks to the offer of optional excursions.
