Greece, about. Crete: why you absolutely need swimming slippers

When you come to Crete for the first time, you first look at the advertising pictures. Marvelous sandy beaches, lazy wave run ... It seems that you will run on white sand and not know grief. But in reality this is far from the case.

Crete is without a doubt an island paradise. In the sense that the inhabitants here are friendly, the sea is warm, the sights are interesting, and the food is simply magical.

There are a great many sandy beaches on the island. However, one should not forget that they are quite often replaced by pebble ones. Or it happens: there is sand on the shore, and you go into the water - and you are greeted by slippery stones.

And the most chic is to burn your feet on the black volcanic sand of Preveli beach on a hot day.

Therefore, experienced tourists have already learned that it is better not to go to Crete without special rubber slippers. In these slippers, you can walk on hot sand, and hold on to slippery stones, and swim. Sea urchins are also not scary (and they are in Crete).

You can buy these slippers on the spot. They cost 9-10 euros and are sold in most souvenir shops and even in supermarkets. And you can attend to this in advance. In sports shops, you can find such slippers at half the price of those in the tourist areas of Crete. And your vacation will be even better, and your experience will be even more pleasant.
