Koekohe
Koekohe is a small town in the Auckland Region. It has a population of about 7000 and is located on the west coast of the North Island. It's popular holiday destination for New Zealanders and international visitors alike, who come here to enjoy its pristine beaches, breathtaking scenery and friendly locals.
One thing you won't want to miss out on when visiting Koekohe is its giant boulder! This mudstone rock weighs around 7 tons and measures 7m in diameter - not bad for something that washed up ages ago! You can find it at the end of Koekohe Beach Road, where there's also an old lighthouse overlooking beautiful Tasman Bay (and if you're lucky enough there might even be some whales nearby!)
Cathedral Cove
Located on the Coromandel Peninsula, Cathedral Cove is a beautiful little beach with white sand and turquoise waters. It's one of the most popular attractions in New Zealand and can be reached by traveling through Hahei. The best way to get there is by car or bus (you can also get there via helicopter). If you choose to drive yourself, be aware that parking spaces can be hard to find so it might make sense to park at one end of town and walk down instead of trying your luck finding a spot right away.
