The best beaches in New York

New York is not only skyscrapers, noisy streets and neon signs. Beach holidays are also very popular here. The beaches are open for swimming from late May to early September, and you can even get to them by metro.

Fort Tilden Beach

This beach is the most protected of all, its length is about 5 kilometers, and the landscapes with clean sands, trees and grassy dunes will inspire even the most demanding tourist.

The advantage of the isolation of the beach is that even on weekends there are not many vacationers. Fans of outdoor activities can rent a bike, ride along the promenade and the surroundings of the beach.

Jacob Riis Beach

A few years ago, this beach space was heavily neglected, and thanks to volunteers and young musicians, the beach has become not only a place for swimming, but also a venue for concerts, a golf course and a huge food court.

The only disadvantage of the beach is that due to access to public transport, there is a high level of attendance.

Jones Beach

This huge beach area, almost 10 kilometers long, is located in the Long Island area. A manicured sandy oasis, perfect for the whole family with mini golf, ball courts, shuffleboard and even a pool. Jones Beach is a real park space, here you can attend a concert of famous musicians, for example, in the park theater, Gwen Stefani often performs.

The architectural sketches are also interesting: the buildings are decorated in the art deco style, and the large water tower at the entrance to the park was created to resemble the bell tower of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice.

Cherry Grove Beach

The beach can be reached by ferry from New York.

Ever since the 60s, the place has been chosen by people with a non-traditional orientation.

The road to the serene village is wooden bridges, there is no asphalt here. Despite its seclusion, there are still many clubs, bars and restaurants hidden among the cottages.

Long Beach

One of the biggest advantages of Long Beach is the constant light breeze. You can get to the beach from the Pennsylvania Railroad Station, the trip will take about an hour, but it's worth it.

In 2012, the beach area was hit by a powerful storm Sandy, but the city was able to raise $42 million and completely restore the coastal area. There are many food courts, typical American hot dog trucks, and outdoor concerts in the summer.

The beach is paid, and thanks to this, the sandy area is free of debris and suitable for walking barefoot.
