Brittas Bay beach

Brittas Bay has won the EU Blue Flag (a prestigious award for the highest quality beaches) for a consecutive period of 5 years. It is ideal for swimming, sailing, kitesurfing, hiking and horse-riding expeditions. Access is open from the R750 regional road, which runs parallel to the beach direction.

Brittas Bay stretches almost 3.2 km. Exploring this beach, you can find a system of sand dunes, which are home to many interesting representatives of the local fauna. Camping on the dunes is prohibited by law because of the environmental damage caused by fires and discarded waste. A special group cleans the beach area every month and transplants the Marram grasses, which strengthens the beach.

Brittas Bay Beach has a rescue squad on duty during the swimming season. The beach is equipped with public WCs and parking lots. Brittas Bay is also home to the world-famous European Golf Course and a Surfing School providing equipment for water sports.

When is it better to go
