Holy Sunday beach

Agia Kyriaki is one of the most picturesque and convenient beaches of the island famous with its golden sand and crystal clear sea. Closer to water, sand changes to fine snow white pebbles that emphasizes the brightness of turquoise water.

The beach is rather wide and long, so there is no fuss here even in the high season. Soft sand and conveninet sea entry attracts families with little kids and mature couples, and fresh wind and rhythmic small waves are loved by water sport admirers.

The beach central part is well-equipped but only from June to September. At this hour, two taverns are open, which provide guests with umbrellas and sling chairs. They are not enough for everyone, so the most part of tourists use their towels. People who come earlier have a possibility to occupy a convenient place in tree shadow.

In the eastern part of the beach, the shore is almost completely covered with snow white pebbles. The sea is clear as a tear here, and snorkeling and underwater photography fans have all their freedom. Large boulders and sharp shells can be present on the bottom, so don't forget about special shoes. Adventure-seekers can climb the mountain by the track and get to the viewpoint from which the view of the secluded beach for real Robinsons opens. You can get here only by sea.

In the western part, the beach borders on several small picturesque bays. As a rule, they are preferred by people who value secluded relaxation, and nudists. Here and tehre, you can find a cave in the rocks, and to take surprising pictures. Water entry is complicated due to accumulation of large boulders and slippery stones on bottom.

Winds are frequent on the beach which is a gift for windsurfers. For them, Agia Kyriaki has the sports equipment rent station and a small school for novices. Moreover, you can rent a hydrocycle, a boat, or a canoe, and enjoy water rides.

Taverns offer their visitrs fresh fish and seafood dishes, and soft drinks, beer, and ice cream. There are no shops here, so if you want to hold a beach picnic you should think about everything in advance.

When is the best time to go?

Sezona godišnjih odmora počinje u maju, a vrhunac dostiže u julu-avgustu: ima previše turista, a temperatura na južnim ostrvima dostiže 40 stepeni, što možda još uvijek ne igra ulogu na plaži, ali svakako nije pogodno za razgledavanje. Dakle, najbolje vrijeme za opuštanje u Grčkoj je kraj proljeća-početak ljeta ili septembar-oktobar.
