Forbes magazine considers this beach one of the 10 best in the world and the best in Goa. Palolem is popular with both tourists and locals. Palolem is a party place, so it is categorically not suitable for a relaxed and relaxing holiday.

Palolem is located in a cozy picturesque bay. It is not very wide (during high tide, a piece of sand is almost completely hidden under water), but it is long (about 2 km). The coastal area with palm trees smoothly turns into a series of colorful houses and sheks (local eateries), where a strip of sand begins, and behind it a blue ocean.
The conditions for swimming on this stretch of coast are excellent: the depth grows slowly, there are no stones at the bottom, the shallow water is vast. The water entry is comfortable and safe. At a fairly large distance from the coast, the water level lasts about 1-1.5 meters for a long time. Waves are rare here. The sea is not transparent, since the bottom is sandy.
The beach is very popular with travelers from all over the world and indigenous people (especially on weekends), sometimes it is really crowded here. Palolem, as a rule, is chosen by young tourists who want to get not only a Goa drive and a fantastic beach, but also a decent infrastructure for little money.

What to do
Numerous restaurants offer all the cuisines of the world on the beach. In Palolem you can order both fresh seafood and excellent pizza. The area of sand near the water is not very wide, but it is rather densely covered with sun loungers and umbrellas. You can take a shower or use the toilet in one of the restaurants. Palolem is quite clean, the beach is regularly cleaned. There are not many pets here, cows rarely come to the coast.
In Palolem, a large selection of sports equipment that can be rented, as well as boats. Most popular local beach activities:
- fishing;
- dolphin watching;
- yoga and dance classes;
- travels to a neighboring island or local river.
Palolem – the venue for all kinds of parties and other entertainment events. There is even some kind of nightlife here, which is rare for South Goa.
Where to stop
Nearby accommodation can be found for every taste, but there are no expensive hotels here. A bungalow on the beach or in a grove behind the beach is the most popular accommodation option in Palolem. Such houses have the necessary amenities (furniture, a bathroom, Internet access) and are quite cheap.
On the beach you can settle right by the water, overlooking the sea, or at some distance from the first line. Bungalows among palm trees do not have a beautiful view, but they are reliably hidden in the shade from the scorching Indian sun.
