Luquillo beach
This is the beach of Puerto Rico the most recognizable from pictures. It has the crescent-like shape and is surrounded with luxuriant palm trees. The beach is also known as Monserrate Balneario. When you come here, you find yourself in real tropics with the entire "sett" of exotics - curious fruits, coral reefs and colorful local inhabitants. Luquillo Beach was awarded the Blue Flag, which means that it's very clean and comfortable for recreation.

Descripció de la platja
It is a spacious beach with very fine soft sand which has pearl shade and plays with several colors under sun rays. Due to underwater reefs, almost no waves achieve the shore: water here is quiet, excellent for family recreation.
Water by the coast edge is not transparent because fine sand rises on small depth and makes it turbid. But when you advance deeper, it becomes more and more transparent and, finally, crystal clear at the considerable depth. The advantage of this beach is the absence of algae in water and on the beach. Moreover, the staff of beach cafes and bars regularly cleans the sand.
A little bit away from water, the solid line of wide-branching palm trees grow. they bring rich shadow to guests who can save on sun umbrellas. In summer season and on weekends, the beach can be overcrowded for being loved not only by tourists, but also by locals, and Puerto Ricans from the closest neighborhood.
When is the best time to go?

Infrastructure
Good news for those who prefer "wild" vacations: there is a camping zone on the beach. However, you will have to pay much money for the possibility to enjoy wild rest: $10 for a night in a camp without facilities, $13 - for a site with water, $17 - for a site with electric heating and water.
The beach is well-equipped, it has:
- a paid parking lot;
- bars and cafes on the territory;
- beach rescuers' station;
- changing rooms and lockers;
- washing room and water closet.
Without leaving the beach, you can have a juicy kebab, and to finish witha good pint of fresh beer. The exotic fruit plate will be excellently complemented by rum Pina Colada. Other facilities include container shops with beach equipment, and souvenirs. Near, there is located a fashionable Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn with a cozy patio where guests enjoy real meal ceremonies when the weather is fine. Prices here may seem a bit high but they fully correspond the service quality.
