In Calotari beach
Kalotaritissa beach is famous for its quiet waters and magnificent landscapes, located in the southern part of the island Amorgos off the coast of the Aegean. The coast is easily accessible by car along the Kato Meria highway, and the journey from Amorgos takes about 35 minutes. The name of this beach comes from the word “Kalotaria”, which means “good weather”. And it really is, a beautiful place is protected by a natural bay from windy weather and stormy waves. The translation means "good weather".

Kalotaritissa is a calm and rather long beach represented by a smooth and picturesque sand bay with several pebble sites. The sparkling sea view is surrounded with a small port for local fishermans boats. The water entry is slightly sloping, with medium depth and very nice water temperature that is always a few degrees higher than on the other beaches. And the real decoration of Kaloritassa is a giant oval-shaped stone cape.
The beach infrastructure is poorly developed but Calotartiss has a nice beach bar offering drinks, seafood, and rent of sling chairs and umbrellas. One kilometer away from the beach, there is a famous Navagio Bay where Olympia suffered a shipwreck due to strong wind in 1980 when it was shipping cement from Cyprus to Piraeus. Attempts to drag the ship to the land failed, so the sunken ship stays in Liverus bay and serves as the unique background for vacation photos.
When is the best time to go?
