Aphales beach
Located on the northern coast of Ithaka in the bay of the same name, dotted with picturesque tiny bays. In one of them is the beach of Afales, surrounded by giant sheer cliffs and washed by the crystal clear turquoise sea. Getting to it by land is quite problematic - from the nearest village Platritias there is a dirt road that goes into a narrow rocky path. Therefore, it is better to use a boat or motorboat, especially since you will have to bring food, drinks, sports equipment and beach items with you.

Afales is also convenient to reach by sea from Fiscardo (Cephalonia), most importantly, check in advance the direction and the speed of the wind.
Olive and cypress groves descend directly to the beach, therefore, you can stay on the beach for the whole day and even camp. Despite the lack of entertainment and necessary infrastructure, you definitely won't be bored, as Afales is a real paradise for deep-sea explorers and fishing enthusiasts. Here you can feel like a real Robinson and spend a memorable time alone with the pristine nature.
In the vicinity there are several beaches, no less cozy and scenic (Kathimisa, Perivoli, Keamardjo and Kuloumi). One of them is Platia Ammos - the unique beach on Ithaca with snow-white "Maldivian" sand.
When is the best time to go?
Grčka - zemlja dugačke dužine od sjevera do juga, pa će se preporuke razlikovati ovisno o mjestu u koje idete. Sezona godišnjih odmora počinje u maju, a vrhunac dostiže u julu-avgustu: ima previše turista, a temperatura na južnim ostrvima dostiže 40 stepeni, što možda još uvijek ne igra ulogu na plaži, ali svakako nije pogodno za razgledavanje. Dakle, najbolje vrijeme za opuštanje u Grčkoj je kraj proljeća-početak ljeta ili septembar-oktobar.
