Gidaki beach
Located on the east coast of the island three kilometers from Vati, the capital of Ithaca. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and atmospheric local beaches due to the crystal clear sea of amazing turquoise color, snow-white pebbles and picturesque surroundings.

It is not easy to get to Gidaki, so even in the high season it is quiet and not crowded. The easiest way to get to the beach is to take a water taxi from Vati. On the way, you can explore most of the Ithaca beachline and admire the scenic islands and bays.
Hikers can walk to the beach along the narrow forest path, which stretches from nearby Skinos to the hilly slopes covered with majestic pine and cypress trees. The trip will take at least an hour and will require some skills and stamina, but travelers will be rewarded with fantastic views of the sea and coast from above.
The beach is quite large, curved in the form of a horseshoe and protected from strong winds and currents by rocky capes. One of the usual amenities is a small fish tavern, which functions only in high season and is equipped with an open terrace overlooking the sea.
When is the best time to go?
