Lake beach
Limni (Paleopolis) is the largest beach of the island of Kythira, covered with a mixture of red pebbles and white sand. Its infrastructure is limited to a dirt road and improvised parking. But not everything is so bad - a few kilometers from the shore there is a restaurant and fifty hotels.

Limni is popular among the nudists. Annually, it attracts hundreds of people who want to lounge in the sun without too much convention. People also come here to bathe in a clean and deep-sea, wander along the wild beach, explore uninhabited bays.
The beach is characterized by a strong wind, a smooth depth difference and cloudless weather. It is not suitable for vacation with children due to the lack of lifeguards and basic infrastructure. Its surface can be walked barefoot, but slippers are recommended for completely safety of the feet.
Limni is located 3 km west of the village of Avlemonas. You can reach this place by private transport, bus or taxi. A little tip: Take an umbrella with you to avoid sunburns due to the hot sun of Kitira.
When is the best time to go?
Grčka - zemlja dugačke dužine od sjevera do juga, pa će se preporuke razlikovati ovisno o mjestu u koje idete. Sezona godišnjih odmora počinje u maju, a vrhunac dostiže u julu-avgustu: ima previše turista, a temperatura na južnim ostrvima dostiže 40 stepeni, što možda još uvijek ne igra ulogu na plaži, ali svakako nije pogodno za razgledavanje. Dakle, najbolje vrijeme za opuštanje u Grčkoj je kraj proljeća-početak ljeta ili septembar-oktobar.
