Seat beach

Kathisma is the most scenic and at the same time the most easily accessable beach on the western outskirts of Lefkada. It is surrounded by a necklace of snow-white cliffs, but even elderly and children will be able to access the sea here. Although this coast is a primarily known as a place of rest of young people, there are also other categories of vacationers. There so many of them in the season that even with a long beachline, it is almost always full of colorful umbrellas.

Among the characteristic features of Kathisma are the following nuances, which should be taken into account when resting here:

• the beachline is covered with light sand with fine and medium pebbles;
• the shallow waters are almost non-existent - a considerable depth begins already 2-3 m from the shore;
• the waters here impress with their numerous shades of blue, constantly changing their color from deep blue to sky-blue;
• sometimes quite high and powerful waves are formed, dangerous even for adults, so when resting with kids should be vigilant;
• the northern and southern edge of the coast is suitable for snorkeling.

Kathisma is one of the most crowded beaches of the island. Less crowded on the southern edge of the coast, where the coast is surrounded by snow-white rocks, and powerful cliffs emerge from the sea. There are hidden wild coves here that the nudists have taken a fancy to. This area of the coast is smoothly moving to the beginning of the next beach on the island - Kalamitsa.

Diving is possible near the rocky edge of the beach. There are interesting underwater caves here. But it should be taken into account that the water only on the surface seems crystal clear. When diving they have a "milk" effect - the visibility is far from perfect.

When is the best time to go?

Sezona godišnjih odmora počinje u maju, a vrhunac dostiže u julu-avgustu: ima previše turista, a temperatura na južnim ostrvima dostiže 40 stepeni, što možda još uvijek ne igra ulogu na plaži, ali svakako nije pogodno za razgledavanje. Dakle, najbolje vrijeme za opuštanje u Grčkoj je kraj proljeća-početak ljeta ili septembar-oktobar.
