Zelenogradsk beach is located on the territory of the same name village, 33 km from Kaliningrad. It is covered with soft and snow-white sand, which literally crunches underfoot. Rarely pebbles and shells are found on its surface, but you can safely walk barefoot along the local beach. This place has the following features:
- clear and refreshing sea - in summer its temperature rises to 18-22 ℃;
- high waves, attracting surfing and extreme swimming lovers;
- beautiful promenade with sea view. It is perfectly suitable for walking and jogging;
- cleanliness - beach are is daily cleaned up. There is no seaweed, natural dumps, sharp objects;
- flat sea bottom - depth begins 10-15 meters from shore.
One of the business cards of the beach is the motley public. In the western part there are mostly families, arriving by train, bus or private car. They are attracted by the wide coast, clean air, soft bottom, and a quiet and calm atmosphere as well. Throughout the summer, a lot of people rest here, so there is a lack of space. Only on stormy days this part of the coast remains empty.
In the central zone of the beach there are private and state sanatoriums. There foreigners and people from other regions of Russia relax. This place is characterized by a narrow coast and proximity to the village. The eastern part of Zelenogradsk is popular among youth. Loud music often sounds here, volleyball and water sports are played.
Thanks to a smooth set of depth, Zelenogradsk is suitable for beginners. People, who are afraid of jellyfish, also will like it. These creatures are so rare that they are written in the local media about their appearance. In remote areas of the beach there are sloping hills covered with greenery. From their height, beautiful views of the village, the sea and sand dunes open;
In the central part of the coast there is a pier with a wooden coating. Its length reaches 100 meters, and width exceeds 3 meters. It is used as dating place and observation deck. At night, the pier is lit by lanterns.
Interesting fact: the first resort on the site of Cranz (the old name of Zelenogradsk) appeared in 1816. After 30 years, it received the status of a royal resort. Once it was visited by the Prussian king Frederick William IV, Russian politician P. Stolypin and a number of other great figures.
When is the best time to go?
Baltička obala nije najtoplije mjesto s obzirom na temperaturu zraka ili temperaturu vode.
