Journey of Serbian tourists in the Greek Zakynthos and their impressions

The bay of Laganas has the magical beaches of Kalamaki and Gerakas. They use the same adjectives for Sequan and Daphne (all four beaches are labeled "Turtle Front" GOK), and our favorite was Gerakas, perhaps due to the unusual "scenes" i.e. clay-sand dunes in the hinterland. It looks like clay hills on Si (xi) beach in the south of Kefalonia.

As for Dafni beach, it can be reached from the main road (Argasi - Vasilikos) and then on a short road - another 3 km to the beach, but due to a bad, dusty road (about 1 km) we decided not to go - bad road , of course, did not bother tourists with rented cars.

Gerakas is located in the extreme southeast and is a real paradise. Given the small number of umbrellas, it should still be a little early on this beach.

Of course, there are numerous guides and shops above the beach, and you won't miss anything. During lunch at a nearby tavern, we spoke to the guide (who turned out to be Albanian), who was already the fourth Albanian we "met" in Zakynthos (the previous three also introduced themselves as Albanians from Albania) - and they were all kind and polite that we are here with notes like "we are neighbors!"

Indeed, there are many Albanians in Zakynthos (probably a seasonal workforce?) and even the service in the hotel restaurant was mostly Albanian.

On the same southeastern side of the island, but on the opposite side of the hill, there are several more beaches (Porto Zoro, Banana, Porto Roma), while they are no worse than other beaches that face the Peloponnese. At the southwestern end of the island and in the bay is the small town of Keri, a family of place names named Keri.

Kerry Harbor is located in Laganas Bay, from where boats leave for a trip to Keri Cave and the aforementioned island marathon. There is also a small lake nearby, and only the city of Keri moves west after the earthquake, so today it is located on the mainland of the island, on the way to the cape and the lighthouse (again, Keri).

The trip to this lighthouse is not a surprise, because there is a beautiful observation deck created to watch the sunset (there is also a tavern, the Keri Lighthouse restaurant). However, the real landmark of this region, created two years ago, is the largest (Greek) flag in the world (made in China).

When you come across this, the first impression is that you saw a flag mast, but something strange for you! Until you realize that the mast is twice as tall as the surrounding trees. Canvas surface 670 m2 (37 x 18m !!!), only canvas 80 kg and column with stand, height 50 m, weight 2.5 tons! It takes a typhoon to drop this flag.

The flag has been registered in the Guinness Book of Records and is living proof that the tourist attraction is actually here and amazes ordinary tourists.
