Dafni beach
Daphne is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Vasilikos Peninsula, which is part of the National Marine Reserve and is one of the popular "turtle" places. Its coast was chosen by Caretta Caretta turtles, that come here for breeding. But true connoisseurs of picturesque landscapes appreciated this beach, having turned it into one of the most popular holiday destinations in Zakynthos.

Beach description
The Dafni Beach is located in the southern part of the island, just 18 km away from its capital. It is covered in soft grainy golden sand and surrounded by emerald green hills. Visitors are attracted by the fact that this place has the warmest weather in all of Zakynthos during Summer.
Families with children like to come here because:
- it's not deep near the shorel;
- the descent is smooth, the depth starts rising about 150 meters away from the shore;
- the waters are warm.
The beach's bay and its surroundings are popular amongst snorkeling enthusiasts and underwater swimmers.
Colonies of turtles who swim to the shore for reproduction can be seen here. That's why there are no water attractions or loud parties here. The beach is rarely crowded, which makes it perfect for those who like calmness.
You can see the reserved Peluso island from the shore, it's closed for visitors because turtles nest here.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
