Beaches in Jamaica

This beach is known to be the most beautiful in Jamaica and the entire Carribean region. With its vast territory, it is divided into several areas where not only ordinary visitors, but also supporters of nudism or sunbathing topless quietly enjoy the beach vacation. Seven Mile is located in Negril, Jamaica's west coast, just an hour and a half drive from Montego Bay. Those who have already had the opportunity to enjoy the perfect tropical atmosphere on this beach, call it a paradise place.

One of Jamaica's most famous beaches - Doctor's Cave, same as "Cave beach" or "Dr. Cave Bathing Club", ows its name to British doctor A.D. McCutty. He opened it to the public by arranging a small private club on the northeast coast of the Carribean Sea in 1906. Club members could only get to this beach by passing through a cave that was later destroyed by a tropical storm, but left its mark on the name. Today Doctor's Cave Beach is a publicly accessible city beach, part of Jamaica's second largest city, Montego Bay.

Private Cornwall Beach is located on the west side of Montego Bay, one of Jamaica's largest cities. In the past it was a publicly accessible city beach, whose infrastructure has been renovated and modernized. Despite its convenient location - only a few minutes' walk from HipStrip and beach facilities, it is not visited by locals, so it is famous among tourists as a quiet and cozy place for family beach vacation.

Silver Sands Beach, located in northwestern part of Jamaica, is known as one of the most peaceful beaches on the island. It got its name from the very light sand that covers the edge of the shore, walking along the sea. It is also known as the homeland of jerky, a popular dish of meat, fish or chicken marinated with Jamaican peppers and other local spices and then grilled. It is sold everywhere here.

This beach is named Bloody Bay due to the bay on which it is located. There are several versions of the appearence of this toponym. According to one legend, the bay was named after a brutal battle that took place here in the days when Jamaica was still a pirate island. According to another version, this is where whalers cut their catch, and as a result the waters of the bay were densely colored with the blood of killed whales.

Immerse yourself in the authentic Jamaican atmosphere and rest on one of the most beautiful beaches in Portland County, Winnifred Beach, located between the Blue Lagoon and Boston Bay, near the county's main resort town, Port Antonio. The second name is Fairy Hill Beach, this beach was given for its proximity to the town of the same name. Winnifred Beach, aka Fairy Hill Beach, is owned by local community and maintained by donations from visitors, being almost the only free beach available to the public on the east coast of Jamaica.

Rose Hall Beach is mainly used by guests of the same name hotel. Rose Hall Beach is in 15-minute drive from Montego Bay Airport. The beach in this part of Jamaica is covered with snow-white sand with golden highlights. The sea is shallow with a smooth depth difference. Windy weather and waves are rare in this area, as is rainy weather. Almost all year round the temperature of the Carribean Sea water and air, allows you to swim and sunbathe. Rose Hall Beach is more often deserted, most tourists rest near the pools of the hotel complex. Treasure Beach, or the beach of Treasure, is the name of 4 bays and adjacent fishing villages on Jamaica's south coast. Its bays of Billy, Franz, Calabash, and Big Pedro Bay, are a tourist paradise for those looking for privacy, secluded, real Jamaican vacation. There are no comfortable beaches with complex infrastructure, expensive restaurants, pools, nightclubs, and other common entertainments. But there is much great sea, kilometers of deserted beach, delicious food in the local cafes, and reggae music sounding everywhere.

Reggae Beach is located in a couple of minutes drive from Ocho Rios. Not so long ago, the scenic beach was renamed Bamboo Beach Club, which led to the place being called both by its first name and by its second.

Frenchman's Cove beach is the most beautiful beach in Jamaica. The first all-inclusive hotel of the same name was built on its coast. Frenchman's Cove is located in Portland. The beach area is a small and surrounded by shady jungle thickets, palm trees, and almonds with luxurious apartments for rent. The beach is covered with snow-white soft sand. Frenchman's Cove became quite unique due to a rare phenomenon: here the fresh river flows into the sea. Both the sea and the river are not very deep, with smooth approaches, so often families with small children rest on the beach.

Ocho Rios Bay Beach is in the port city of Ocho Rios, as well as a few years ago it was a small fishing village. But the development of tourism business in Jamaica has turned Ocho Rios into a popular center for diving, water sports, equestrian sports, and beach vacation. There are also facilities for family picnics and friendly parties on the beach.

James Bond Beach is named after the shooting of the film of the same name about Super Agent Lames Bond, whose romantic scenes were filmed on the beach. The beach is also part of the Flemming Estate, author of the famous spy novel. James Bond Beach is located in northern Jamaica on the northwest outskirts of Oracabessa.

Hellshire Beach is located near Portmore, a small town 15 km from Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. The beach area is about 200 m. The entrance to the sea is smooth and not deep, and the water is crystal clear with turquoise tide.
