Professor's Corner beach
It is difficult to find in Crimea a more picturesque corner of nature than the famous Professorski Ugolok. Now it has been equipped with a new promenade with elements of modern landscape design, wrought iron benches and awnings, with a spacious pedestrian zone, where cyclists also like to walk. There are numerous access points to the sea from this promenade. There are actually many beaches and some of them are free. However, at the entrance to some is required a nominal fee supposedly for using sun loungers, although this is prohibited under the current legislation.

Professorski Ugolok is located in the west part of Alushta. You can get here by foot or by trolley, minibus from almost anywhere in the city. New and comfortable beaches are stretched for 2.5 kilometers. A huge plus of this coast are established piers. Breakwaters prevent the passage of strong waves to the beach, so it is comfortable to swim even for inexperienced swimmers.
There are so many sections of the beach in Professorski Ugolok that everyone can find a suitable option for themselves:
- there are more lively ones with loud music and bars where young people like to relax;
- there are more distant and calm, which are preferred by couples and more mature people who value calm and measured rest.
All these are pebbled coastal areas, on each of them pebbles may differ. It is better to have rubber shoes with you. In some places, the entrance to the water can be abrupt and uncomfortable, so choose crowded beaches. There will definitely be comfortable conditions for entering the water - a gentle and flat shore without “surprises”. Sometimes a jellyfish can be nailed to the beach from the open sea, but this rarely happens - before or after a storm.
When is the best time to go?
Vremenski uvjeti na Krimu ovise o mjestu na kojem ćete se odmarati: dok je na južnoj obali relativno toplo i vlažno, tada na drugim mjestima može biti hladnije i suho. Period između kraja maja i uključivo prve polovine jula smatra se idealnim vremenom za izlet kada su se zrak i more već zagrijali (23-25 stepeni), ali prava vrućina još nije došla. Ako više volite toplije vrijeme, odaberite drugu polovicu jula ili početak augusta.

Infrastructure
Basically, all the beaches in the area are equipped with sunshades, sun loungers, parasols, wooden walkways, showers, toilets and changing rooms. The entertainment available for vacationers will satisfy the expectations of even the most sophisticated tourist. You will be offered here:
- riding bananas, tablets, dragons, catamarans;
- professional massage session;
- visit to the beauty salon;
- exotic fish pedicure;
- drink a glass or two of wine on the cozy terrace of one of the cafes with sea views.
Out of the local attractions, it is worth noting the monuments to Golovkinsky and Suslova, which are located at the foot of Mount Kastel (the far edge of the Professorski Ugolok). On the mountain slopes are professorial summer houses, among which several museums function including of the writer Shmelev and the architect Beketov.
