Cottesloe beach
For more than 100 years, the kilometer-long white beach of Cotteslo has been a favorite of the inhabitants of Perth. It is a half hour drive from the city center. This is a popular place for snorkeling, surfing, beach cricket.

Cottlesloe Beach is divided into three parts. The central one is suitable for swimming and walking. Southern, creeky of rocky reefs and cliffs, attracts wind- and kitesurfers. In the north end, there is a wonderful snorkeling site, right in front of the family surfing club. Some underwater explorers were lucky to notice in local waters a sea dragon, an endangered species.
The wide Esplanada Cottesloe shadowed by giant pines is a wonderful place for picnics. Here, you can enjoy street concerts, and noisy twattle of rainbow-colored lorikeets. There are many stylish restaurants and cozy cafeterias on the beach, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Numerous resorts and apart hotel welcome tourists to spend a night.
In 2009, Lonely Planet called Cottesloe Beach the second best beach for family recreation. The huge role was played by the 16-km promenade for hiking and cycling from Perth to Cottesloe Beach.
When is it better to go
