Alyko beach

This sand desert island is situated only 20 km away from the capital of the island. Convenient ways lead there, so driving there won't be a problem. Moreover, buses go between Aliko Beach and Naksos six times a day. So, the reason for which it is not crowded is not in the complexity of transport infrastructure and the long distance from the capital but due to the fact that several other beaches, equipped and convenient for family recreation, are on the way to it. For this reason, many people make a decision not to waste their time on the beach survey but to stay several kilometers away from Aliko Beach.
People with better endurance and patience drive to this destination and feel the advantages. Aliko Beach differs from other neighboring beaches: it is relaxed, calm, and secluded, so sometimes it seems that everything here was created especially for you. At this, Aliko Beachis divided into several beaches: Aliko, Micro Aliko, Kedros and Hawaii formed when mountains sink in Aegean Sea. Aliko even has the nudists' area, so, if you are not too shy, you can visit this place to get a perfect suntan.

Aliko Beach is a wild beach, that lacks even the slightest amenities. And this is undoubtedly an advantage for ardent nature lovers. Not only that, on the beach there is nothing but sand, sea, and rocks, so even in the nearest district, you will not even find a kiosk with ice cream or water. Prepare yourself for the fact that the nearest tavern is located in Pirgaki (the settlement, which is located right behind Aliko). As for hotels, accommodation options for overnight you also have to look for in Pirgaki. For example, one of these hotels is Naxian Resort.
As mentioned above, the absence of sun loungers and umbrellas does not make this beach any worse. You can hide from the sun in the shade of a cedar grove, and stretch out for sunbathing – right on the sand. Fortunately, there are no stones, boulders and debris that can cause some discomfort and even injury.
As for the entertainment program, in this sense the beach also cannot be called poor. Yes, no one will force you for a banana ride in the water or lead on your children with paid beach rides. Are these cons or perks – everyone will decide for themselves. The beach offers comfortable conditions for novice surfers (those who want to admire the underwater world while relaxing). The water in this area has good visibility, so even while swimming on the surface with a mask, you will see a lot of interesting things.
