The beach with a length of about 2.5 km and a width of more than 40 m is covered with fine light yellow sand. The entrance to the water is gentle, and the bottom is sandy and stony. The sea is restless, which attracts surfers to Playa de la Mata. There are rental points for sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as water and sports equipment. Equipped with children's play areas, playgrounds for beach volleyball and football, massage parlors. The beach has many wooden sidewalks for convenient movement around the territory when the sand is too hot. There are medical posts and rescue towers along the entire coast. There are numerous restaurants, bars, snack bars and stalls. Along the beach runs the promenade with entertainment venues. Extremely popular nightly disco Vella Beach, which in summer is open until 5 in the morning.
Playa de la Mata is not very crowded compared to city beaches. Here you can always find uninhabited corners for a relaxing holiday. Among visitors there are adherents of both outdoor activities and lazy leisure in the lap of nature. It is comfortable to rest with children. Near the beach there is the Molino del Aqua Natural Park with pine forest, a picturesque canal and relaxation areas.
