Tanjung Aru beach
Tanjung Aru is the iconic Sabah Beach, as much a part of local history as the Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. Tanjung Aru is only 7 kilometers away from Kota Kinabalu. You can reach it by taxi or public transport in 15-20 minutes. A huge (almost 2-kilometer) stretch of coarse sand is an ideal place for sunbathing, water activities, picnics and watching fantastic sunsets.

Descripció de la platja
The northern part of Tanjung Aru (First Beach) is a place of concentration of the best hotels and kiosks selling fast food made from seafood. There are platforms for frisbee, football, skimboarding. There is a parking lot near the food court.
Prince Phillip Park follows First Beach. You can see blue parrots and motley rhinoceros birds in its shady thickets. Locals and tourists like to have picnics here. There are the Second and Third beaches behind the park, which are not so popular, given their proximity to the airport runway, but quite suitable for fishing.
Tanjung Aru's development plans include the construction of new hotels, pedestrian and bicycle paths, an environmental center, a 133-hectare golf course, and the yacht port. The implementation of the project will turn Tanjung Aru into an upscale resort.
When is it better to go
Nema naglih promjena temperature na plažama Malezije i moguće je opustiti se na otocima tijekom cijele godine. Nema posebne sezone kiša i vjetrova, padavine se raspoređuju ovisno o mjesecu u godini i regiji zemlje.
