Tortuguero beach
Tortugero beach is located on the territory of Tortuguero National Park in Limon Province. Millions of tourists visit that place every year. Huge wild beach with no beach infrastructure extends for a several kilometers along the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

Beach description
Beach sand has different colors depending on its location, from light-beige to brown, somewhere it blends with pebble. The entrance to the water is gentle and not deep. The bottom is sandy and stony. Waves aren't high. Swimming is not recommended, because there live sea crocodiles and bull-sharks. The protected area also has the places of sea turtles nesting. This species is in danger of extinction. The forest is home for hundreds of endemic species including lamantins, ocelots, big green turtles.
Thise who love spending their vacation in the pure nature come visit this beach. Thick rainforest comes close to the coastline. The park territory has many tourist routes. The visitors can choose canoe tours through the jungle channels.
Close to the Tortuguero National Park there are several hotels that have their own beaches. It's preferable that you book a room in a hotel that has it's own pool because you might have no opportunity to swim safely.
It's not easy to get to the Tortuguero National Park. The best option is the hotel with transfer.
When is it better to go
The peak season in Costa Rica begins in December and lasts until April. This period is characterized by clear, sunny weather without precipitation and a massive influx of tourists. Air temperature – above +30°C, water – not below +25°C. From June to October, the rainy season prevails, when the country is flooded with heavy tropical downpours with churly blasts. It is possible to go on a trip in November and May, when the rains are not torrential and fall rarely. At this time, the cost of tours is reduced.
