A narrow line near the entrance in the water and the bottom is covered with white sand. The rest part of the beach is an uneven rocky surface along which you should go in comfortable shoes.

Blue Lagoon is a very popular beach where a lot of people gather. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, but usually all the beach equipment is taken by those guests who come first. The cost of 2 sunbeds with umbrella on the sand is €25, on the stones it is €20. Near the beach, there is a free free public toilet with shower and changing stall. Around Blue Lagoon, there is a network of small outlets where you can buy drinks and food.

Tourists from Western Europe, the USA and other countries have their vacation on Comino. There are no Maltese there because of the high attendance of the beach. The water area of the island with its underwater grottoes is a favorite location for divers, fans of scuba diving and snorkeling. The picturesque surroundings attract those who likes land and underwater photography and videotaping. Comino is characterised by rarely picturesque terrain, and the particular feature of the underwater world is a wealth and diversity of marine life.

It is convenient to spend time with children over 10 years old on the beach, with very small ones too tiring. There are no playgrounds, too many people and annoying factors: crowding, noise, lack of space for the rest necessary for a child.

When is it better to go

The swimming season in Malta lasts from late May to October. The air temperature reaches comfortable +25-30°C, and the water temperature does not fall below +23°C. In some regions of the Maltese archipelago, the water warms up to +26-28°C. In summer, dry, sunny and calm weather prevails. Precipitation is rare. The southern coast of Malta is often influenced by the dry desert winds of Africa, raising high waves and bringing the sultry breath of the Sahara to the islands.
