Sassandra beach

Sassandra is a long beach surrounded by tropical forests and mountains. Also on its territory there are several ancient lighthouses, open for tours. Not far from here there is a colourful village, palm grove, beautiful park.

Beach description

Sassandra is famous for its soft white sand created to walk barefoot. It's included warm and transparant water, clean air, quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The weather here is sunny and mostly windless. Sea entrance is smooth, no underwater streams.

Guests are offered the best dishes and drinks of Ivory Coast, kayaking, sea excursions. They are taken on fishing trips, sent on hiking trips, taught rowing and national crafts. Lazy tourists entertain themselves sunbathing, swimming and leisurely walking on the beach.

Local village offers hairdresse service, also there people can buy water and food, learn about culture. They also sell the most delicious fish in all of West Africa. Nevertheless, Sassandra remains half-wild beach. There are no touristic crowds, noisy parties or big number of traders.

When is it better to go?

High temperatures – are one of the peculiarities of the climate of Côte d'Ivoire. For those who cannot stand the heat, it is better to choose the period from August to October to visit the country when the temperature is + 24-25 °C, the rest of the time it is kept at + 27-30 °C. The same time is a period when rains are not very often. The smallest amount of rainfalls occurs from mid-December to March, and the most rainy periods are May and June.
