Zrce beach

Located in the northeastern part of Pag Island, Zrće Beach stands as Croatia's most renowned coastal gem. Home to four illustrious beach clubs - Noa, Papaya, Kalypso, and Aquarius - each ranks among the top 100 in the world. As night falls, Zrće transforms into an electrifying clubbing paradise by the sea, earning it the moniker "Croatian Ibiza." The beach proudly boasts the prestigious Blue Flag award for its pristine conditions.

Pag Island ensures seamless connectivity to the mainland through a dependable ferry service. A mere two kilometers from the beach lies the charming resort town of Novalja, offering convenient access to the nearest port of Žigljen via regular bus services or taxis.

Beach description

The expansive beachline of Zrće Beach stretches over a kilometer, resembling a crescent moon with its fine pebbles. The sea, an emerald blue, is clear and tranquil, nestled deep within the bay. A gentle slope leads into the water, revealing a sandy and secure seabed. From the shore, a stunning panorama unfolds, showcasing the mountainous Croatian mainland on the horizon. To the east, the beach meets the Pag River, which is a robust waterway in winter and a gentle stream in summer.

Zrće Beach is thoughtfully segmented into zones, catering to family vacations with children. It boasts accessible ramps and pathways for individuals with disabilities, vibrant entertainment centers for youngsters, sports fields, volleyball nets, and a plethora of sports equipment rental options. The beach features complimentary toilets and showers, along with secure storage rooms for personal belongings. Rescue towers dot the landscape, vigilantly monitored from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During the peak season, the sun's rays are unrelenting, and natural shade is scarce. It is essential to come prepared with sunscreen. For added comfort, sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent. Alternatively, visitors can escape the heat in the numerous cafes and bars situated directly on the beach.

Thrill-seekers will delight in the array of extreme sports available. From water attractions to bungee jumping, zip-lining, and parasailing, there is no shortage of adrenaline-pumping activities. Rentals for boats, catamarans, kayaks, and water skis are readily available, and a water park lies adjacent to the beach.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit the island of Pag in Croatia for a beach vacation is during the summer months, specifically from June to September. This period offers the most favorable weather conditions for enjoying the island's stunning beaches.

  • June: The beginning of the summer brings warm, but not excessively hot temperatures, making it perfect for those who prefer a more tranquil atmosphere before the peak season rush.
  • July and August: These are the hottest months, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and engaging in water sports. The island's vibrant nightlife is also at its peak, with numerous festivals and events taking place.
