Beach description
You can get to Mermerli Beach through a restaurant on a concrete platform and then climb down a wooden staircase to the coast. The entrance fee that includes the use of beach infrastructure (like sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and toilets) is 20 Turkish lira. The small sandy beach is located at the foot of a picturesque mountain. Umbrellas and sunbeds occupy the whole area, and some of them are set up on stone platforms over the sea. The descent is steep and the water is quite deep even near the shore. The sea bottom is covered in pebbles and stones. Rocks and boulder piles where snorkelers spend their time separate the beach from the port. The water is very clean and calm. Rocks protect the beach from the wind.
Mermerli Beach isn't crowded. The beach won't suit families with children. Those who prefer calm vacations usually come here. You can order beverages and snacks that will be served at your sunbed.
The following sights are located near the beach: The Hidirlik Tower with its rich history, a mosque with a minaret, Hadrian's Gate and other notable places of the Old City.
