Kokopo beach
The province of Eastern New Britain is famous for its sandy Kokopo beach, which every tourist should visit at least once. People can get to the beach by airport from Tokua Airport which is located in 10km from Kokopo.

Kokopo Beach is perfect for swimming and picnics. Palm trees protect from midday heat; waters are crystal clear and cast a pleasant blue. Dolphins live in the bay, so diving lovers have a lot to see here.
Hotel resort Kokopo Beach Bungalow which is located nearby, distinguished by first-class service. Volcanoes that rise in the distance challenge visitors who are attracted by mountaineering. Great work of diving center allows to study underwater world and its fauna. Also other water activities available: kayaking and surfing.
When is it better to go
The best time to visit New Guinea is between May and October. At this time, it is not too hot (on average + 23.5 °C) and not very rainy, which is suitable for hiking and wildlife watching. You can go diving all year round, while it is best to ride the waves on the north coast during the rainy season (from December to March).
