Koka beach
Koka Beach, aka Paga Beach, is not without reason known as the dream beach, because it is one of the most beautiful places in Flores. It is a stunning coastline, covered with white sand and surrounded by coral cliffs overgrown with tropical greenery. This beach is chosen for a classic beach holiday, picnics, romantic meetings and evening walks along the sea. Koka Beach is located in the village of Voloviro, Sikka district, 48 km from the town of Maumer, East Indonesia. It is most convenient to get to it by bus, rented car or motorcycle. The main problem of the beach is the poor condition of the road and the complete lack of infrastructure. Nevertheless, it is very popular with locals and visiting tourists who choose this beach for their holidays. When planning to spend all day on Koka Beach, it is worth taking food and water with you, as there are practically no merchants here. If you want to spend the night in the area of the beach, you can use the services of nearby motels.
Relaxing on Koka Beach is a great opportunity to climb Mount Kelimutu to meet the sunrise in the company of friends. In addition, the beach will appeal to lovers of snorkeling, because next to it are coral reefs inhabited by a variety of fish, and a low tide without any problems allows you to observe the underwater life of coastal waters. Locals choose this beach for fishing.
When is it better to go?
The air temperature throughout the year differs little and keeps within + 28-30 degrees. In the evening and at night, it is slightly cooler, but the thermometer rarely falls below +23 degrees. The water temperature is also stable. In order to avoid the rainy season (months from December to March), it is better to visit the country from May to August.
