Beach description
Morgans Bluff Beach is a sand beach, located in the northern part of Andros island. It has the following features:
- small size - 700 m in length and up to 40 m in width;
- numerous seagulls and kinds of exotic fish;
- abundance of boulders situated in water and near the coastline. One can climb there in order to take sun baths or enjoy the ocean view;
- perfect order on the entire territory;
- silence and calmness - a small number of tourists have vacation here (compared to the other beaches of the island).
Morgans Bluff Beach is characterized by smooth depth increase, clear water, soft bottom, and small waves. This fact allowed positioning the place as a family beach. This place is also suitable for snorkeling, diving and sailing sports. In the near vicinity of the beach, there are many trees providing shelter from summer heat.
The main contingent of the beach is represented by locals and foreign tourists. On weekends, a rather considerable amount of people gather here but on working days, the beach is usually half-empty.
Interesting fact: this place was named in honor of Captain Morgan, the legendary pirate who was sailing under the British flag. He used the island bay as a basis for attacking French and Spanish ships.
When is the best time to go?
Holidays in the Bahamas are good at any time of the year, but the busy season is in the period from mid-November to May. The Bahamas are disposed quite low in relation to sea level, so the wind blows in the winter months, but it is gentle and soberly pleasant. The air temperature is between 27-29 degrees from the end of autumn to the beginning of summer. Traveling with children, it is better to come in the autumn months, while the spring is more appropriate to go for new emotions, and peacefully enjoy the sunshine – in winter.

The beach is located in the wild. In its vicinity there are no bars, cafes and large hotels. There are several hostels and beach houses nearby, where you can rent a bed for the night; one of them is a motel Pineville Motel. As an alternative, you can get there by car, you should take enough water and food with you. Near Morgans Bluff Beach is the village of Nicholas Town. There is a gas station, a grocery store, a barbecue restaurant and a cozy cafe.
