Beach description
A kilometer-long public area with fine white sand, smooth entry into the sea, clean, transparent water, playgrounds, barbecue areas, and green lawns – this place is rightfully called the best in the Emirates. While renting umbrellas and deck chairs is paid, there is always a spot for your towel. Jumeirah is especially popular among married tourists with children, and the beach is also loved by locals.
Jumeirah features a club zone offering a wide range of beach amenities, albeit with a paid entrance. All hotels in Dubai boast their own exclusive zones on the beach; these are complimentary for guests but chargeable for others.
It is important to remember that all public beaches adhere to the traditions of the Muslim country. Women are required to wear modest swimsuits, and behaviors such as drinking, littering, public displays of affection, including kissing and holding hands, are prohibited. On public beaches, there are specific days (which vary) when only women are permitted entry. The paid zones tend to have fewer restrictions.
When is the Best Time to Visit?
The best time to visit Dubai for a beach vacation is typically between November and March. During these months, the weather is most favorable for beach activities, with clear skies and moderate temperatures.
- November to March: This period is considered the peak season for Dubai's beaches. The temperature ranges from a comfortable 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F), which is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. The sea temperature remains warm, making it perfect for a dip at any time of the day.
- December and January: These are the coolest months, offering a much-needed respite from the heat. However, they are also the busiest, so expect larger crowds and higher prices.
- February to March: The weather starts to warm up again, but it's still within the comfortable range. This is a great time to enjoy the beaches without the peak season crowds.
It's important to note that during the summer months, from June to August, temperatures in Dubai can soar above 40°C (104°F), which can be too intense for some visitors, especially for extended periods on the beach. Therefore, planning your beach vacation during the cooler months will ensure a more pleasant experience.
