Shelly Beach

Shelly Beach offers a wide beach zone with pleasant white sand. Local lands are very picturesque. Luxuriant vegetation, spreading palm trees protect the beach area from scorching equatorial sun.

Water is calm, storms are seldom here. The bottom is covered with sand with small pebbles fractions but it is not recommended to enter water here without special shoes, because there are plenty of sea urchins and other animals in shallow waters after the flows. Algae are also present on the coast, so it is not very pleasnat to enter water

Some time ago, this place was very popular, but because of events of 10 years ago, when ethnic massacre occurred here, Shelly Beach became desert. Many hotels unable to provide safety of their guests were closed. The beach will be good for short one-day recreation.

You can get to this place from Mombasa by taking matatu (local micro buses) that go there frequently.
