Ramena beach

The most beautiful beach of Madagascar, Ramena, is located in the north of the country in Antsiranan, on the coastline of the second largest bay in the world. It is not easy to get to it, it is necessary to to go from the port at least 60 minutes.

Beach description

There is a calm and clean ocean on the beach, a sandy beach, a unique scenery and delicious food. The water is dark blue, the resort is surrounded by palm trees and tropical trees. It’s not crowded on the coast, the entry into the water is sloping, a significant distance must be covered to a depth. This is an ideal  vacation spot for lovers and newlyweds. There is no infrastructure.

Outside the city, the popular Water Sports Center works. Tourists come to Ambre - the park with the northernmost point of Madagascar, to see what the "French Mountain" is with the monument to the victims of 1942, who fought in the battles for the freedom of the city. It is worth seeing other sights of the resort:

  • large plantations of cocoa beans and coffee in Ankifi,
  • famous sacred lake Anivuranu,
  • Windsor Castle cliff with castle.

When is it better to go

On the eastern coast of Madagascar , there is a humid, tropical and monsoon climate, in the center is temperate and marine, in the south in the desert – arid, in the northern part – subequatorial. The hottest temperature is in the northwest of Madagascar. From early April to late October, the average air temperature is from +13 to +20 degrees, the rest of the year - from +22 to +30 degrees. Depending on the region, 400 to 3500 mm of precipitation falls. Destructive cyclones occur on the coast. The best time to relax on the island begins in April and lasts until November. If the purpose of the trip is a trip to national parks, then you need to go to the resort in the fall, when animals are most active.
