Henties Bay beach

There are often large waves on the beach, and the water is quite cool even in season, as the Bengal cold current is suitable here. There is no infrastructure on the beach, except for wooden benches for relaxing and watching the ocean and trash cans. Hotels and villas are set on sand dunes and have glass windows that look out over the ocean.

There is a lot of plankton in places off the coast, which attracts sharks. The most popular entertainment is shark fishing in Henties Bay. You can fish directly from the shore. Equipment, bait and catch are guaranteed for $ 90 per person. You can go fishing from a boat right in the ocean. From beach you can also go to Cape Cross – place where the largest colony of seals.

When is it better to go

You can travel to Namibia year-round. The climate is dry due to the desert influence. In the summer months (December, January and February), air temperature can reach + 38˚. In winter, the air temperature rises on average to + 25˚, but during this period it is very humid.

If you want to visit nature reserves and the desert, you should come to Namibia in the winter. For a beach holiday, the best time is from November to April. But we must remember that the Atlantic is not too warm. Even at the peak of the beach season in February, the water temperature off the coast in the Atlantic Ocean does not rise above + 23˚.
