Punta de Palma beach

Beach description
The beach, covered with white sand, is located in a picturesque palm grove, which approaches almost close to the sea. The slope into the water is sloping, the depth in the distance from the coast does not exceed 1.80 meters. The sea is calm, almost without waves. It is very comfortable to rest with small children, if someone dares to take them with them on a trip around the country with a rather high crime rate.
There is not crowded in Punta de Palma. Beach infrastructure is rather scarce. There are paid showers and toilets. It is possible to have a snack at the bar, located on the beach. There are guests from Western Europe, USA, Canada among vacationers.
Not far from Punta de Palma there is a preserved area with small Las Escobas waterfalls and a picturesque lagoon. Excursion to the reserve will cost about $14.
When is it better to go
The Guatemalan coast is dominated by a hot tropical climate with heavy rainfall and hurricanes in summer and calm sunny winters. The best time to relax on the Caribbean and Pacific shores - from November to April. The air temperature does not fall below +18°C and does not exceed +28°C, and the water temperature in the Caribbean reaches +26-28°C. In May, the rainy season begins.
