Beach description
Travellers who have been to this small paradise note the whiteness of the sand and the transparency of the seashore waters. Once you are on the beach, don't hesitate to take a snorkeling tour. The corals here are not as impressive as on West Bay, but this is compensated for by the abundance of marine life that can be photo-hunted. The best entry into the water on West End Beach is from the south side of Half Moon Bay. Behind the corals, the depth increases significantly (up to 10 m).
West End is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops for every taste and wallet. They're all located along a small seaside road. The most popular way to get to the West End is by taxi boat, which takes only 10 minutes.
When is it better to go
Honduras has the warmest period in summer, especially in the lowlands of the Caribbean and the Pacific coast. The temperature range in the dry season is 28-32 °C. A slight cooling – for about 3 °C – is observed with the onset of the rainy season (May-November). The heat is suitable for diving, and the wet season is for admiring the lush green vegetation.
