Beach description
Saplunara is not like the usual pebble beaches of Croatia, the coast of this place is covered with fine white sand. The territory of the beach is quite spacious, the length of the beach is about one kilometer. Saplunara is an ideal place for a quiet family holiday. Entering the water is shallow and sandy, and waves are very rare for this place. The depth of water in 30-40 m from the shore does not exceed 1.5-2 m.
On the one hand, Saplunara is surrounded by the endless calm Adriatic sea,on the other hand there are high shady trees of the pine forest leaning over the beach. The air in this part of the island is filled with aromas of rare plants and a slight salty smell of the sea. It is worth noting that Saplunara is a protected natural park of the country.
There is a small cafe with Mediterranean cuisine on the beach. There is also a toilet on site.
When is the best time to go?
Although the summer in Croatia is hot (the temperature can rise up to 30 degrees), but thanks to the sea breezes it is very pleasant - the best time for a beach holiday. If you want to see the sights of this country rich in historical events, it is better to choose tours in spring or autumn: firstly, the weather is comfortable, and secondly, there are not so many tourists in these times of the year, which positively affects prices.
