Amager beach
Amager is a sandy beach 4.6 km long, located near Copenhagen in the park of the same name. On the one side it borders on the Strait of Oresund, on the other side it borders on the eastern shore of the artificially created island of Amager. There's a lagoon nearby, which is crossed by 3 bridges, and here in shallow water there are zones for kids and a track for swimming.

Beach description
Amager beach is divided into several parts:
- a sandy coastline with small dunes in the north;
- the long promenade in the south, as well as many equipped courts for volleyball and other active ball games, zones for picnics;
- a car park and a small pier in the south.
Warm, clean water – this is one of the few places where you can enjoy the real Scandinavian summer. The conditions for recreation are ideal, as confirmed by UNESCO, and the resort annually receives a well-deserved Blue Flag award. This means that the area is ecologically clean and safe, the beach is universal – suitable for recreation of people of all ages.
It's easy to get to the coast by public transport, it has a metro station nearby and buses. People here practice kayaking, diving and other water sports. On the coastline there are sports grounds and a stage for concerts and performances. The beach offers a view of the famous Middelgrunden wind station installed in the sea.
When is it better to go
Winter in Denmark lasts 4 months: from December to March. At this time, the maximum air temperature is not higher than -7 degrees. The country has high humidity, so it feels much colder here. In the rest of the year, the climate is marine: dry, clear days without precipitation. Summer is not hot, the maximum air temperature is from 15 to 18 degrees. The peak tourist season falls in July and August.
