Cap d'Agde beach

Located in the south-eastern part of France on the coast of the Mediterranean. It is located on the territory of an enormous naturist colony well-known outside the country. It was founded after the World War II by Oltra brothers who were growing olives on these lands and noticed that people who like to take sun baths naked often come to this beach. Entrepreneurs supported this idea and arranged a small nudist camping on the beach, and when the beach general reconstruction started in 1970, insisted on turning Cap d'Agde into the comprehensive naturist resort. Today, it occupies a large territory with residential houses, condominiums, hotels, stores, clubs, bars, restaurants, SPA salon, sport playgrounds and the wonderful two-kilometer sand beach, one of the best in this region.

Beach description

The beach is a wide two-kilometer sandspit stretching from the port of Agde town to Marseillan and its haven. It is conditionally divided into family, sport and entertainment recreation zones. Special sections for LGBT people are equipped to provide maximum comfort to all the beach guests.

The beach is equipped with umbrellas, sling chairs, water closets and shower cabins. There are recreation tents, first medical aid stations, beach rescuers and coastguard. Special gaming towns are arranged for small children, and adults can have fun with water games, enjoy sports or relax in beach bars and restaurants.

It is prohibited to take pictures of bystanders, demonstrate obscene items or gestures, and enjoy carnal pleasures within sights of the others on this beach. To be honest, these prohibitions have no been followed recently that confuses the resort permanent visitors.

The sea in Cap d'Agde is always clean and transparent, and strong winds or high waves are very rare here. It summer, water is heated to 25 degrees, and air temperature reaches 30. The bottom is sandy and safe, without sharp relief drops, so parents have no reasons to worry for their kids.

It is convenient to get to Cap d'Agde by high-speed train connecting the resort with the other French cities. For 3-4 hours, you can drive by car from Barcelona that is located only three hundred kilometers to the south.
