Nida beach

Nida is a prestigious Lithuanian resort on the territory of the village of the same name in the Curonian Spit National Park.

Beach description

The beach is crowded, popular and expensive, has the Blue Flag mark as an environmentally friendly place. It is suited to families with kids. The high cost is due to the ban on the construction of new buildings in the national reserve. The Curonian Spit stretches 100 km in length and reaches 3-4 km in width. The area is well maintained. It is clean and beautiful. The beach is surrounded by a pine forest with nice paths.

Accommodation is booked on the coast of the freshwater bay. Several hotels are located on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Camping enthusiasts can stay near the village that is cheaper than in hotels. It is often windy with sandstorms. In this case, shelter tents are sold in stores. The resort has unique attractions:

  • Amber Museum,
  • culture of the disappeared people of the Kursenieki,
  • the ethnic fisherman’s estate,
  • Parnidzio dune with an observation deck.

Lovers of outdoor activities go to discos, night clubs, bike tours.

When is it better to go

Lithuania has a temperate climate: soft sea on the coast, continental in the east and in the central part. Here is no severe frost in winter, and in summer it has chilly weather. The average temperature for July: +22 to +30 degrees during the day and an average of +13 at night. Most precipitation falls in late summer. The tourist season lasts almost the whole year. Summer – is a squeak of the season. Many people come to Lithuania to celebrate the New Year holidays.
