Aniva beach
Aniva Beach, a picturesque stretch of sandy coastline along Bukhta Lososey in Aniva Bay, lies near the eponymous city on the southern fringes of the Sakhalin region, approximately 40 km from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Its name, according to one interpretation, translates to "standing surrounded by mountains." Enclosed by rugged cliffs, Aniva Beach is not only one of the oldest beaches in Sakhalin but also the most sought-after destination for beachgoers along the brisk waters of the Sea of Okhotsk. Despite the sea's cooler temperatures, the beach welcomes a brief but delightful bathing season that spans a mere two months.
