Castaway Island beach
Castaway Island or Calito, as the Fijians call it, is one of the most beautiful in the Mamanuca group of Islands. Tourists visit the northern part, where there is a clean private resort. It's about 20km away from Nadi airport. Travelers reach the holiday destination by boat, seaplane or helicopter.

All year round there is a sunny weather, the beach is sunk in golden sand, covered with palm shades and surrounded by crystal clear water. The atmosphere and the shore itself are perfect for the honeymoon or holiday with family and children.
What to do, lounging on the island:
- Sunbathe, swim, watch the ocean views and green islands.
- Explore coral reefs near the shore, learning how to snorkel.
- Join catamaran tours.
- Kayaking, windsurfing, sky-boarding and other water sports are also popular; there is a Diving Center (PADI).
If the ocean is not enough, there is a pool, three Castaway bars, boutique shop, and to give your body at the mercy of specialists massage salon. Children from 3 to 12 can be sent to Children's club (there is a special menu).
It's interesting, that, according to the law, this part of Fiji can visit no more than 20 people per day. Such conditions are accepted in order to keep the nature and cleanness of the Castaway Island.
When is the best time to go?
In Fiji, good weather lasts 12 months a year. But the islands have some seasonal features. In winter, warm weather is maintained there at + 23-25 °C. But this period is not suitable for fans of yachts, surfing and swimming due to frequent storms. In spring, the sea becomes calmer, but heavy rains persist. The dry season starts in early May and lasts until the end of October. At this time, the average temperature of air and water reaches + 26-27 °C. The bright sun and cloudless sky persist in Fiji until mid-November.
