Long beach
Long Beach has a length of several km. Such long beaches are rare for Fiji. Kadavu Island is one of the biggest islands of Fiji, located not far away from Viti Levu; the closest to the island continent is Australia. There are not so many roads, people can come here from Nadi or Nausori by plane, and by fairy from Suva on Tuesdays.

Travellers meet here real Fijian hospitality, white sand with turquoise swimming pool, underwater reefs and remains of wrecked ships to explore. The great Astrolabe reef attracts divers from all over the world. Besides the beach and diving there are a lot of other activities: hikes, kayak excursions, watching wildlife. Many interesting places of this island can be reached only by boat.
Both modest guesthouses and eco-friendly high-end hotels always offer diving equipment. In the land area there are great hiking trails that give an opportunity to explore tropical forests with their unknown birds and amazing waterfalls.
Later tourists can go back to sprawling sandy strip of Long Beach to try local organic supplies and fresh seafood. Out of the resort tourists buy provision near runway.
When is the best time to go?
In Fiji, good weather lasts 12 months a year. But the islands have some seasonal features. In winter, warm weather is maintained there at + 23-25 °C. But this period is not suitable for fans of yachts, surfing and swimming due to frequent storms. In spring, the sea becomes calmer, but heavy rains persist. The dry season starts in early May and lasts until the end of October. At this time, the average temperature of air and water reaches + 26-27 °C. The bright sun and cloudless sky persist in Fiji until mid-November.
