Beach description
The coastline is wide and long, stretches over 3 km, is surrounded by mangrove forests. The beach and bottom are covered with snow-white fine sand. Various exotic animals and birds live in the forests. The beach is comfortable and cozy. It is a real tropical paradise for tourists. The sea-floor slope is smooth, waves and wind are absent. The water is clean and clear. The resort is suitable for families with small children.
You can get to Garrapatero Beach by shuttle bus. For lovers of outdoor activities on the beach, there is a rental of swimming equipment. Here you can take a canoe, mask or snorkel gear and go scuba diving. Many like to just dive from a yacht. The conditions are perfect for scuba diving and regular swimming. There is a lot of place where you can sunbathe and watch the life of local inhabitants: iguanas, penguins. Near the coast there is a small lagoon where mockingbirds, Caribbean ducks, reels and flamingos live.
When is it better to go
In search of a beach holiday, the continental part of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands can be visited all year round; however, the period from December to May will be the best choice, because the water gets warmer and the rainy season softens the enervating heat.
